MRslotcar fc130 sidewinder pod MR2114
#1

Bit of a long shot but does anyone have a Mr slotcar sidewinder pod for fc130 motor (not the slimlinemotor) they would part with, or a link to where one can be bought?

Sidewinder pods for FC-130 motors have not been produced to date..............any reference/pictures etc. stating that the MR2114 is a FC-30 sidewinder pod are incorrect.

The pic. you have posted is a ff-050 pod.

I find that quite bizarre as it would be the #1 improvement I'd add to these cars.

Yep my thoughts exactly, it is listed on evotec website but seemingly no where else so that ties in with what Chris said, never got released. Shame, I have a few of the Mazda 787 but need a SW pod to run it at our club, the slimlines just have no brakes.

I suspect this slimline would...https://www.professormotor.com/product-p/pmtr1532.htm

...Chris can tell you everything you need to know about that motor.

I have a few of those motors. They are not expensive.

Chris helped me gear it correctly, and says it's a nice, fast, motor. But Chris can also drive insanely fast cars. I can't yet.

It's way too much motor for me. I don't enjoy driving the car. You can't blink, or the car is off the track. I rarely drive it.

Note the current draw. You'll have more than enough brakes if you can deal with the speed.

Probably geared around 4:1

I just did a search for this motor on another forum, Chris has used this motor in a MRSlotcar...

Thanks, that's a very neat looking build. Unfortunately I think the class rules will be 25k for sidewinders regardless of can type so I think I might just be out of luck in this case.

Hi Tater06,.....how long/tight/twisty are the tracks you run on ??........I built the attached chassis 2 years ago for a proxy that allowed a 25K FF-050 motor or, up to a 22K FC-130. The tracks were all shortish club type tracks, and this car won the first 3 rounds..(the proxy was cut short due to Covid).

This is a Policar FF050,.....which will bolt right in to the MRSlotcar sidewinder pod....they do work well geared high numerically...this one was geared 9 x 32.

If you are running on longer/faster tracks a 25K FC-130 may well be the better option.
