With a standard motor that brass chassis really goes well with great traction as well.
have you ever raced it? Can it take crashes? What was your rationale to glue rather than solder ?

Now that my club East Devon Slot Racing Club is about to resume racing as from tomorrow I will be able to try out my cars on the club track again. I went for a glued brass chassis just to see if it could be done. A number of times people have said to me that they will not "scratch build" as they can not solder. I did this "Slot Monster" build based on a Tamiya kit to show that you do not even have to use brass in your conversions.

Hi Dave,
Cool stuff. Where's the Beetle wheel-stander? It's a hoot.

I've built a chassis by glueing wooded 'popsicle' sticks together. Works quite well.
