There is no such thing. Probably a quirk of the website.
There are discounts available which are automatically applied at checkout:
over £100 -5%
over £250 -7.5%
over £500 -10%
There is strictly no discounting on any order under £100.

Thank you and you're right. Increasing my order by a third and fourth item automatically invoked a discount and reduced the 'per item' postage, or to look at it another way, only increased the postage by £1 per extra item, making the cost of postage more palatable.
Not only that, within an hour the order had been processed and a tracking number provided!
