I hadn't heard about this, quite a story...

Huge respect to Chris for pushing onwards.   I will never forget the tension at the end of the final event when Alexy Lukanyuk hit trouble and no-one could say if Chris had enough points to clinch the European Rally Championship. The results computer system had "gone down" and at the stage end Chris Rawes managed to stretch out the interview without saying congratulations until Julian Porter used pencil and paper to triple-check the maths before they could unofficially announce Chris as the champ. An incredibly tense few minutes.

OK, it's not the World Championship but I find it astonishing that there is no prize money for the European.

As talented British rallydriver, Chris Ingram deserves it, that his European Rally Championship winning Skoda R5 will be produced as a slot car by Scalextric.

But yeah.. motorsport is stupid expensive and thank goodness talent prevails!
