Hi fellow slot racers, at the age of 15 I was introduced to slot car racing by my metal work teacher, a man I have known for 40 years. Chas sadly passed away two years ago. Chas Keeling collected me on race evenings where first we raced at Bradford then later at Halifax. I entered area rounds and I was lucky to race at the National finals 2 consecutive years. I went to College then University and eventually moved to the Isle of Man where I took up slot car racing again approximately 8 years ago at the age of 60. It was a pleasure to talk to Chas about slot cars again and purchase bits from his company SCD. I have on a number of occasions spent time with Chas at his house where I met Muriel who continues to run SCD. I race on Thursday evenings at Manx Slot Car Club, have entered proxy’s, varying  UK club events and Slot Rally UK rounds.
