I am wondering how many of us have bought a Scalextric Volvo 850 Estate Car. Please share a photograph of yours.
If you have not bought one there is no need for you to let us know nor indeed comment.
I had actually bought the BTCC version in order to make a plain road car from it, but Scale Models have commissioned a street car version. I have raised the body to make it more "street".

I wonder if any clubs will hold specific races for these cars...

It's picking night tomorrow at the club for the first set of classes for next year.
Based on how many I've seen at the club recently, I wouldn't be surprised if "Hornby 90s touring cars" gets picked by a few.

We have a class called 'Small Sports/Saloons' - the proviso is 9mm max width tyres and 54mm max across the tyre walls...
...this Volvo is comfortably within both of those dimensions
It's never going to compete with our normal Saloons, 10mm wide tyres and 64mm across the tyre walls so maybe fighting it out with Mini's and AC Cobras is where this will be most competitive.

Well I bought one…….and sadly it’s going back

Scratched roof, so will wait for replacement, but I have the 3d chassis and lightweight interior for it.

Here’s mine on track.
Judging by what it’s competing with, there seems to some ‘timey-wimey‘ stuff going on - maybe caused by the close proximity of that blue police box...

Got mine. Had to fiddle with the lights to get the body to sit flat, which maybe why only one headlight now works. Hopefully it will be easy to wire in a replacement kit when they become available...
Right from the sweet spot of my BTCC fandom.
I love puttering with gears
