Nice Alfa too!

What can I say? Cool cars of any scale brings out the kid in me.  Checkeredflag

Thanks bud.
I just came back from an old school American muscle. Pontiac’s, Trans Am, Camaros, Stangs, Challengers, a nice Aussie R/T Chargef and more.

Alfas rock. My mate has a single turbo 1.7L C4. Carbon fibre tub chassis, full roll cage, fully worked with 6 speed paddle shift.
He gave a drive a few weeks back. The ultimate pocket rocket, sticks it right up GT3s and Hurricanes on track day. And of course it’s red.

Today I stuck new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on the Stang on all 4 hooves and had her detailed. I noticed a split in the upholstery on the front seat about to happen so off to a good upholsterer next week.

Back to the topic at hand.

My heart goes out to Woodcote, Kevan, and Jason. That's a hard hand to be dealt in life.

My parents were kind enough to save every one of my reports cards from school. They thought it would inspire me to change my ways as an adult.

All the report cards said the exact same thing. Lazy daydreamer that doesn't pay attention in class. Writing skills are merely chicken scratches.

Today they would say "Hey, this kid as ADD and Disgraphia. Let's get him some help" Back in the 60's and 70's, it was extra homework, and punishment almost every day. I hated school with a passion.

Besides everything else. I had a very bad experience in 2015 that caused me to have anxiety attacks. Slot cars have been my medicine since 2018.  Thumbup

Full circle for me. As a pre- and early teen I’d escape to my basement track and work bench to hide from a dysfunctional family situation. When I returned to slots a few years ago it was for pure fun just like it was when I got that first Strombecker racing set.
For the past year a number of unusual health setbacks have hit one after another, each taking away a beloved activity. Building and tuning slot cars, and running them around the track until I fall into that Zen-like state once again helps me stay sane. A trivial purpose in life no doubt, but a pleasant, rewarding purpose nonetheless.

I’m not very familiar with slot cars, but I can totally see how hobbies like this help with mental health. Anything that lets you focus, relax, and enjoy the moment can be a nice break from stress. It’s cool to see how something so simple can be calming for people.
