I've never heard the like. What are we here for for heavens sake. Don't give me that namby pamby "but I'm only here for the social aspect" "it's the taking part that's important" What a load of boot makers.....it's winning that matters, nothing else. I've even been known to hang the tail out on corners.....on purpose no less.

Please check the posts and race results for the T32 club. You'll be shocked to find out that we are friends first. Racing is simply a part of that friendship.

I'm a member of one of the best clubs in the world as far as I'm concerned!

Friends first. Everything else after that. I hope you get to experience that at least once in your life. It's way more fun than just winning.

I've been racing for 60 years and have had my share of losing don't worry. Maybe it's just my sense of humour but then I don't take much about life very seriously, humans are just too wierd to see them as anything else I do find it strange that people can't recognise irony when they read it.

My club days, I remember with great affection and I still enjoy the memories and wonder what happened to so many of those friends I made. Mind you, at 78, I wonder how many are still with us

So back to the black stuff on the contacts...is it dust that has been burnt by the arcing of the wiper, or is it something else?

Having a close look at that photo it looks more like the contacts have worn away. 
Bear in mind there's a few things at play here and the reason I prefer contactless controllers:

• Friction 
  
• Dust/dirt/oil 
  
• Electrical arcing 
  
• Wear on both contact and board 
  
• Force of the contact on the board due to the wiper arm being bent too much

I always thought that it was the "Gunk Monster". I could be wrong.
