Could any of our members in the USA give me a rough idea of the cost to send an unboxed 1/32 scale car to the UK, please?
There is a car I like the look of on a certain auction site, but the seller hasn't given me a straightforward answer to the question. I get the impression he doesn't want to get involved with international shipping.
Best regards,
Stuart.

The reason some sellers won't ship over an International border is because of the possibility of expensive taxes and duties to the buyer. When a buyer is surprised by these things. They may refuse the order at the border, and demand a refund from the seller. It can be a huge waste of time and money for the seller.
Dash Motorsports won't sell anything to Canada anymore for that very reason. I had to come up with another solution to buy Dash parts.

It’s usually 23.00 USD to ship 1 car from the UK (uninsured). Graham has been shipping my proxy cars home now for 3 years or so. It takes approximately 12 days to receive a package.

A seller won't risk shipping anything uninsured, or they stand a chance to lose everything. The price spikes when insurance is added.

I’ve shipped quite a bit of stuff over from the States, mostly with no problems. Shipping quotes have varied wildly from $20 to over $100 for similar packages. However, I’d absolutely avoid anyone wary about shipping overseas. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Surely the seller can look at your feedback and see you are not a scammer?

I've resigned myself to continue waiting for one to appear either in the UK or Europe. I just got over-excited when the one appeared in the auction site. I can't remember how long I've been waiting now - certainly years rather than months.
I've got one in the 2013 Abu Dhabi livery, so all is not lost, I just would prefer a 2011 one to go with my 2011 Mikko Hirvonen Fiesta.

I suppose I could have a scout around for a decal sheet for the 2011 car and re-livery the Abu Dhabi one.
Best regards,
Stuart.

The problem is, if you tell everyone what you're looking for. You create your own competition.
Stuart. Tell everyone that you're looking for a '59 Edsel - Rally. A rare car indeed.
