I bought and have played with the right hand Mondeo since 2009.
I've just bought the left hand Mondeo, after a considerable period waiting for one to be reasonably priced, because it is different. (Just branded myself as a bit of a collector there.)
I can only find images of the left hand car with the associated Scalextric ref/catalogue number of C2170 and I would like to know (now branding myself as a spotter) what the number for the right-hand car is.
Can anyone help?

Set car???
Scalextric used a dollop of artistic license on their interpretation of the no.55 car. They used the existing mould which was a 4-door, but in 1:1 Mansell's no.55 was a 5-door.
Best regards,
Stuart.

The answer is simple...remove one of the 5's
...OK it's not the same colour scheme so maybe not so simple

Now I've looked again at your images, I'm more convinced that the right-hand one is probably a set car. It lacks quite a bit of detail, like set cars often do.
Back to me being anal about the livery being on the "wrong" body, in 1:1 the four-door was pre-facelift, and the five-door was post-facelift - the front of the cars were totally different, it's very noticeable in the images Kevan posted.
Best regards,
Stuart.
