OMG Moment
#11

The default nozzle in the airbrush was 0.3mm, last night I changed it to 0.5mm for painting a body and got a more consistent coat.
So I am guessing 0.5mm for flood fill, 0.3mm for detail & 0.2mm for fine detail.
Would that about sum it up?

Cheers Grant

Getting there ,connected everything up ,adjusted the pressure and squirted air through it . That's enough excitement for today .
Tomorrow may try some paint ???

How good!!!!

Same as the one I got, very happy with it, easy to set up and use.
The default needle/nozzle is 0.3mm I'd swap it out for the 0.5mm needle/nozzle if you are painting bodies.
It provides a much smoother coat for flood fill.
Also adjust so lever only pulls back about 50% of entire travel for first two coats the all the way back for the third coat seems to work for me.
I haven't painted above the lowest setting on the pump (10PSI), haven't needed to.

One big thing I have learnt.

Clean, clean, clean.
Wipe bowl and cap clean with baby wipe dipped in 99% IPA
Pull needle out, wipe clean baby wipe dipped in 99% IPA.
Use smallest brush supplied to clean the throat again 99% IPA
Clean nozzle
Put together then flush with 99% IPA
Then take apart and clean again.

WEAR GLOVES, cleaning is a mucky job.

It is amazing how much residue still remains.
Takes longer to clean than to paint.

Cheers Grant

I'm now searching for paints, they'll probably be more expensive than the airbrush

Using my own (perverted) logic I've just ordered my paints...... from China (should match the airbrush) Rofl
