Just got this cheaply at the Lens meeting.
I was very surprised to see how well the type of car went in the 'clamshell' race this last weekend. I would have thought the lower type of cars - Mirage,P4 etc were the best.I think it is because of how wide you can make rear wheels that gives good stability in the races. Have had a good look at it and the setup and mods have begun.
Not allowed to make major modifications but have managed to lower the rear end, taken off some top heavy weight, stabilized front wheels and will have to think about how to get front guide not to swivel 180 deg!!
Gotta tell you these classes of cars were fun to race

My second 'JagerBull' mashup paint/decal job...
Some of the masking could have been better, I need to work harder on that next time. Any tips on how to get the paint off the screen? Happier with my decal work this time round.

I’m thinking about doing this Dan Gurney Lotus 19 that won the 1962 Daytona Continental 3 Hour race in 1962.
He wasn’t wearing goggles as he crossed the finish line as he had a mechanical failure and stopped for several minutes at the top of the banking before coasting to the win.

A friend slipped this kit on my bench and asked for an aluminum chassis. It's the first time I've seen one of these kits. The box is a bit rough. But the kit is very nice.
I don't think they're $0.59 cents anymore. Not since 1965.

I got a knackered silver one a few years ago, not complete and badly glued...a shame

Tragedy.
When I get a glue-bomb. I usually soak it in an automotive degreaser like Super Clean for 3 or 4-days. Depending on the glue, it usually starts to lift at the edges and can be pried apart.
Just don't soak anything chrome plated as it removes chrome very quickly.
This poor dollar store Lindberg Jag had glue all over the hood, sides, and trunk. All smooth now. I was happily surprised that the car was saved.
