Team Slot
or
Avant Slot?
I might be after one or the other.

Of course it depends on you and the effort put in to set it up but...
- AS is a better engineered model but a noisy rattler
- TS chassis is very agricultural but runs smoother
- AS better wheels
- TS wheels have an axle in the approximate area of the centre of the wheel
- Both overpowered
- TS can take a SlotIt pod
- AS has it's own pod with a centre pivot at the front
So six of one and half a dozen of the other...I prefer the TS version

I have an Avant Audi LMP car and never got the hang of the rocking motor pod (or took the time to...). That might swing it in TS favour straight away.
But then the other side of me thinks don't be such a coward, take on the challenge!

Jeremy,
If you are looking for a "run as-is', Avant wins due to having better basic design and construction, round wheels etc.
If you are looking at a full motor/mount/Gearing retrofit, teamslot might well be worth a punt.
If you are looking for a class destroyer, the avant is available as a white body kit
Hrs2 or maybe a 3d chassis under it with all of the top tuning accessories.
Proxy or club racing?
Alan.

HRS2 AW under either of those will provide you with an astoundingly good Rally car. The Citroën Saxo and Metro 6R4 in the recent Rally Slotting Proxy had this setup and were absolute joys to drive round fast or tricky rally stages.
...the Slot.it orange label boxer is superb for this use, don't wreck it with a silly motor.

So, to add a bit more context...
I really enjoyed my day out at the Usk Valley rally event at the Abergavenny club week. My Scaleauto 208 and SRC 205 were a joy to drive and I di ok with them result wise. My Classic entry (the red TR7) did less well, so my initial thought was 'What car won the class? Buy one'. It was won by an A310 but I do not know which make.
So my question about Avant Slot vs Team Slot could have been better put as "Is one of them the equivalent of a Thunderslot whilst the other one is a Fly?" My preference would be to race one straight out of the box but blueprinted, hence my original query. If there is not much between them, and they both would benefit from a performance chassis, then I can just focus on the one with the livery I like the most!
And to answer your question Alan, first preference would be for me driving it, but it would probably be entered into Proxies from time to time.
[I do have an HRS2 chassis that I am going to put under a Touring Car for the forthcoming proxy. If someone wants to start another thread with assembly tips for that product, I would be most grateful!]

I'd say the TS is faster as it needs a spoiler to keep it on the ground.
(Against it - it has a spoiler to break off!)

I have them both, but only run the Teamslot in competition.
As you can see I had to glue the Teamslot motor in place to prevent movement in the chassis, but otherwise it runs very competitively. In fact it won the previous years Abergavenny National Rally for the "Fastest Teamslot" which was sponsored by TS that year.
The Avant one remains on my shelf at the moment as I have other Avant Rally models like the Subaru and Ferrari 308 which I have used.
In general I found that both brands have rather fierce motors for Rally. But the TS Alpine copes quite well with the original motor. The Avant cars I used I found it was better to replace the original motor with a SRC one. Getting enough weight down in the front of the Avant basic chassis is always been an issue for me, although it worked best in the Avant Subaru. I think it might work better with a 3d printed chassis.
I don't much like the Teamslot chassis design either as movement of the motor pod is somewhat restricted, but it does seem to work at least for the Alpine model. And it remains a fairly reliable competition car for me as it is.
Just one point is that the paint quality and finish of the Teamslot cars are rubbish, and as you can see from the photos scratches easily when used in action.
