Indeed they do !   There seems to be very little info on the motor fitted, RX44… are they less powerful than 41/42 type ?

They're all powerful...just slow!

...consequently they can be geared to ridiculous levels as they all have too much brakes fit larger pinion and/or smaller crown gears to gain speed and reduce brakes.

TBPH, it's a tiny car, that motor will probably be too much for it as it is, a slimline motor would have been a better option to get the CoG lower.

The power should be comparable, the reason for the different designation is down to the "chicken legs" (the contact strips fitted to the motor brushes that meet the brass strips in the underpan) are setup pointing rearwards.

I was over the moon when SCX announced this car, but a bit disappointed when it arrived. It seems to sit "on top" of it's wheels and looks odd. I still have both livery variants, though.

If you want unlimited fun in a small SCX package, the Abarth 1000TC is the way to go.

I wasn’t expecting brilliant performance, just a bit of fun and anything to make it a little quicker would  probably be nice, the tyres had flat spots with standing, I have managed to get them a bit rounder but new ones will be best, on the sidewall they say ‘Scx 044’ and they measure about 8 x 18 , any suggestions for replacements ?  Also our track has two straits about 12 feet long with tight corners, would lower gearing be helpful maybe,

Still learning !!

Without fussing over motor performance and gearing I'd true the tyres and try it first...you'll probably find motor/gearing the least of your problems after a few (lots of) expected deslots  Bigsmile
