What a day

Steady on now. Tappingfoot

I don't doubt the ability of the drivers, but I'm afraid the look of the cars, and the circuits tends to make my lip curl up in a most unflattering sneer.

Like almost all American sports it has to be experienced live.
The spectacle is probably more important than the actual sport.
I can play baseball, basketball and American football and if the opportunity arises I will attend a game/race live but watching on TV? for me a great cure for insomnia...

Having grown up around Michigan International Speedway the sheer thunder and rumble of these things are very much party of the experience. I personally don't feel motorsport has to be loud... Even if they were all electric (or hybrid) they are moving hundreds if not thousands of liters of air as they chug along and the weigh tons making the ground shake.

I have actually driven a NASCAR for 30 laps and if I imagine there are 2 guys on either side and up to 20 in front or behind me I have t a LOT of respect for those guys (and gals...)

For me it is like food, burgers, steak, lasagna, roast turkey: All very different meals but still great food!
