Is that the MSC with the 4 wheel drive? If so let me know how you get on and how you tame it.

It is. The first thing to do is deactivate the '4WD' apparently.
Didn't seem all that brilliant anyway. The 'elastic band' was way too loose to give consistent - if any - 4WD, so it's been removed.
As for anything else, I'll find out at the next meeting on Aug 3rd.

Thanks, will give that a try later today. Was just testing a couple of different cars to get a measure of the car I was tuning and had picked up that one as random to test. Find it hard to keep in the slot in standard state even with the magnet in. Is a lovely looking car though and main use will be on my small table.

Mm? Does look great but hopefully it will perform too as its the 'go to' car club members recommended when asked. It will be run mag less but I do have the Scalextric version and some other options just in case.
I'll be miffed it it can't be made competitive but I've no means of testing/setting up until the night. I have already removed the drive belt and magnet though.
It'll be run on their 107' Scalextric Sport Track so what works there may be overpowered for your 'small table' though?
Can you post a pic' of a blue car to get the thread back on track though please?
