A new 'Segmented' race format has been proposed for the night, with 4 or 5 minute heats on each lane (2,3,4,5 ) in ONE direction, then a second round of heats racing in the other direction, the total scores giving the overall results.

Sat. Feb. 12th.

Ten drivers made this the best turnout for just over two years, promising much for 2022

There were several new faces, so hopefully they weren't put off by one or two minor issues. The first class was due to be Club Porsche 911's but they proved to be rather temperamental, so a quick substitution saw the Club Gp5's come into play. Different beasts altogether but they did provide very close racing, with the last heat showing five of the six drivers fastest laps being covered by just half a second.

1) Club Gp5 (any motor/chassis layout)

Mark Raine took top step on the podium, followed closely by Mark Jay and Shaun Bennett.

2) Owner/driver Sports/GT/Le Mans (any motor/chassis layout)

These were of a similar motor/chassis format to the Club Gp5's but being owner/driver cars there was a greater variety of body styles.

Bill, unprepared for his astounding performance in the last heat, where a timing glitch gave him FTD and a new lap record over five seconds quicker than the rest of the field. However, this didn't seem to effect the overall results.

At least six different 1:1 makes were represented on the track, including Aston Martin, Audi, Ferrari, Ford, Mosler and Porsche. The beautiful Gulf car is a real standout for me though.

Bill managed to squeeze himself onto the top step of the podium, taking the class win two thirds of a lap ahead of the three leaders from Class One.

Next meeting: Sat. Mar. 12th.

The previous attendance of ten wasn't matched BUT - the good news was that there were another couple of new faces, boosting total membership to twenty-one and making a good tally of nine racers on the night.

Things are looking up.  Thumbup

To ease the newcomers in an opening Sprint Race was quickly organised using the club Nissans on reduced track power, which saw some very close competition. Regular attendees Rob, Vic and Mark took the top three places but those new to the club were well interspersed amongst the other regulars.

The previously announced Club Ninco Peugeot Rally cars came next with more close racing throwing up a different winner in Mark Jay. Rob took the second step, Bill filling out the podium in third spot.

The main event, owner-driver Rally cars (max. 20k motors) rounded out the evening, with a great range of two and four wheel drives taking to the track.

Even a BTCC BMW managed to sneak onto the grid, a concession to the new attendees?

Racing went well despite a few new problems with the lap counter/track sensor, this class seeing the third winner, Vic, leading Mark and Rob home in another closely fought battle.

April 2nd meeting

First of all thanks to Vic, who finally tracked down and fixed the electrical gremlins with the track sensors, making for a far less stressful night for the race controller AND drivers. Thumbup

Three classes, four winners.

The trucks proved to be really closely fought, with David taking the win - just - by a third of a lap, the rest of the field being covered by barely a lap.

The American Muscle class was dominated by Mark, with a massive lead of 3.6 laps. However, the second and third placed drivers  made a bit of a fight of it, with the pair finishing on the same lap.

The bonus class, Club Karts, was VERY hotly contested. Even more so than the trucks. The whole field was covered by less than a lap, with the win being shared between Shaun and Mark, who finished in a dead heat!

Three classes, four winners  Cool
