Ninco 1 and Policar Subaru BRZ
#1

Hello everyone,

Does anyone out there have any experience of racing either the Ninco 1 Mustang and Camaro models, or the newer Policar Subaru BRZ's??

I am looking at introducing a new Club Class, having decided to give up on the old Scalextric BTCC Super tourers we had been using. We race 4 lane analogue, with both a Routed track and a repainted Scalextric sport track.
Routed is 30 feet, fast and flowing, Scalextric sport is 50 feet, much more technical and multi level.

We have numerous, mainly Scalextric classes, so it would be good to have something different. I would like some form of Saloon based class, we have other classes already covered, but not Saloons. We race non magnet, and I would like the class to be box standard, or as close as possible. 4 cars, colour coded to each lane. Don't need to be really quick, just something we'll matched and robust!

Thank you in advance,

Pip

No experience of Policar but we did try Ninco 1 cars. The track is 130ft routed wood with extremely long straights plus some technical twiddly bits.

Our club class uses Scalextric impact resistant Ferrari F430s and/or Porsche 997s and the Ninco ones are not remotely as good. They are much slower, extremely noisy and very variable in their motor performance. The handling was not too bad and reliability was OK with no major breakdowns.

As we run on wood it was necessary to replace the stock tyres with urethanes on both the Scalextric and Ninco. Otherwise completely box stock.

The Ninco cars were just about acceptable for a club class but all the members much preferred the Scalextric ones.

I would suggest just buying one for starters and see what you think.

Thank you both.

Kevan,
I do like the look of the Subaru, and your positive comments back up others I have seen  Thumbup

Thank you. I have heard just the sort of issues you experienced, but it is always much better when it is from an impartial and respected source.

As we already have a number of Scalextric classes I think I will get a Policar Subaru and see how it goes.

Someone was selling a pair of Policar scoobys on Slotforum yesterday for £13 each...I was tempted but whilst dithering missed out to someone else.

I have a blue one with NSR tyres on the rear and some lead inside, it's never going to worry a SlotIt Opel but fun all the same.
