Cars bought by members in 2022

Good one Jeremy. I'll go the distance and get a curved smoking pipe too! It has to have a curve or I'll eat it during hard braking.

Mm? Seem to be a lot of new cars here so maybe this will be out of place but when this little lot popped up fairly locally on FB Marketplace at a 'not to be missed' price I just had to jump in quick.
Why?
Nostalgia.
The first pair of Scalextric cars I had were the BRG AH 3000 and white Mercedes 190SL - but 'Baby Blue' would have been my preference. Add to that both cars LOOKED complete with minimal damage - underhanging number plate on the AH and ONLY the number plate remaining of the Merc's front bumper, they looked like they might respond to some TLC.
My original AH made the transition from home racer to the club track with gradual 'schoolboy affordable' mods. Initially outrageously wide alloys with racing slick and then an MRRC 3-pole motor. It was never a race winner but great tail-out fun and fishtailing all over the place.
I just HAD to grab these

It's great when something like that comes along.
I love puttering with gears

Having been strongly advised to buy this model if I wanted any chance of success in the NSR Classic class at a nearby club, I reluctantly forked out on a P68 that from all the pictures I had seen, would be the ugly duckling in my collection.
However...
...having spent half an hour fettling it, I have to admit it has a certain understated elegance about it which is growing on me.

Ugly duckling ? Never ! The curves on a P68 are a thing of beauty (even NSR-ified)
I am surprised the 917/10k isn't king of class though ....
