Brian - looks great - what interior detail kits are those? I have some interior bits from a toy set I bought in the early nougties, but they don't seem to be anywhere near the quality you have there!

Le Mans is a must. However one or two trips I reckon is enough. I used to go every year with my nephew and eventually, the whole thing paled a bit what with the overwhelming commercialisation and the lack of sleep. Having racing cars screaming past the tent all night is not the best way to remain alert to what's happening.
Now of course, the idea of spending any time at all in a tent, is my idea of hell on earth. Ronnie and I are not great travellers but if we do go somewhere, it will be a comfortable bed we retire to at night.

They are Fujimi 'garage and tools'. Officially 1/24 scale but nearly all are suitable for 1/32. There is a very old thread on SFI about them which shows the size comparison. LINK
I am not sure if they are still made but they do pop up on eBay, often at silly prices. As always you just have to be patient till one comes along at the right price. I paid a tenner for mine but some while ago, retail is over £20 I think.
This set is actually part of a whole series called "Garage & Tools" - there is also a garage on its own, a set of mechanics and others in the series - sellers often don't make it clear which one they are selling, the box art can be misleading and you can end up with the wrong set. Study the description and photos very carefully and make sure you are buying the right one.

Quite a few things on my bench and more in the drawer underneath. Highlights are the two XR3i’s that I have custom liveried and bespoilered. One has an NSR Shark 20 with Slot.it gearing, the other has Pendleslot’s 20k cheap s-can with Slot.it gearing. Both have alloys and home made urethanes on the rear. The other project is available a FibreSlots A35 that will have alloys, Slot.it earring and yet I undecided motor. All projects are chipped for SSD.
In the drawer underneath is a George Turner Efijy that might have an Avant Slot LMP chassis to sit on.
Slot cars are not life and death. They are so much more than that
This has been brought forward from back-burner. Austin Mini Countryman (from a Mini van).
Have got a proper grille and just recently got Cosmic alloy wheels for it but they are just a bit small.
The base shell was a Steve De Haviland product. The rear couple of centimetres was solid resin so spent a fair amount of time hacking that out.
Have given it a first coat of Primrose Yellow.
The real challenge is doing the wood trim - am thinking that using kitchen work top veneer trim would work but am open to other possibilities.

My next project. A part Scalextric Sunbeam Tiger shell that needs a "little" work before it can be running again.......Like new bodywork from doors backwards, new windscreen, (racing type as opposed to road car), New front valance, interior, gutted underbody to accept new chassis and running gear.
Leo , might be worth asking Gordon about veneer ,he seems to be a bit of a master at that sort of thing , he also makes guitars ,so bending timber should be right up his street .
