Maybe it's a poor translation, but I read this SRC press release as saying that SRC have fixed the price of their cars, and anyone selling them for less than that is not playing the game...

Some limit discounting. For Scalextric, it's a maximum of 10% off RRP. It's a way to protect genuine hobby businesses against aggressive discounters. I think a blind eye may be turned to the occasional sale or promotion.

And it doesn't seem to apply at swapmeets
