SRC Ballast Fitment
#1

I bought a set of ballast bars to fit in my SRC 205. You get four weights and five grub screws.

When I went to fit the long bars either side of the motor, they seem to just push fit onto the plastic pegs.

Is that how they are fitted?

Why are there grub screws in the pack of parts?

Speaking with Rallyhub, it seems the grub screws are 'not applicable' to the 205, the weights are retained by the little rubber o-rings.

In this link of the SRC site you can see how the ballast bars are secured by o-rings in a Peugeot 205 T16 floorpan.
The grub screws are in set RM1203.
For improving your Peugeot 205 T16 "Kit Competition 2" RC 0318 is the one you need.

Well...installed the washers.

Not sure they will make much difference, but hey, it's SRC, so do what they say!

Looks very neat.
The only way to find out is testing... and testing again.

Did the added weight work?

Due to the pandemic and the lack of any rally tracks or events to run it on, I have no idea yet!

Hopefully I will get a chance to give it a thrash somewhere this year. It might even prompt me to get on with the rally track build in my garage!
