my name is Dominik and I restarted H0-scale slot racing just recently. I’ve already restored my old Aurora cars (MT and G-Plus) from back in the days and a few Tyco 440x2s I bought with a few Tyco Monte Carlo and Grand Prix sets. The last days I restored some old Faller H0-cars I also found in the attic, currently waiting for spare parts.
Having played with Faller in my younger years I’m currently planning on setting up a permanent 4-lane racetrack with Tyco in the basement. And sometimes I have to do some lap time on my sons Carrera Go circuit, but recently he also prefers racing on dads old H0-racetrack set up on the basement floor.
Anyone interested in discussing racetrack layouts?

That’s gonna be quite a challenge: I want to build a 4-Lane Raceway with one bridge on a platform 3m x 1m. OK, that’s pretty common, but here it comes: it should be foldable like a Murphy bed with the longer side facing the wall.
Main reason: the only available space is in our recreation room/ home cinema behind the screen and my wife doesn’t want “such a large monster standing around unused half of the year”.
First I was like ! But the more my mind started making construction plans I had to say: I like the idea (and the challenge in building it of course) So I started with a few track designs. It should be mainly for -G-Plus, 440x2 and MTs. (But you never know...) I also thought about customizing some curves to 22,5 degrees or even less to make it a little more interesting, but don’t know how to display that in a track editor.
What do you think?

The one on the left looks better to me - and could be driven in either direction without marshalling issues or cars ending up in awkward spots if they deslot..
Both your track designs are cool. I prefer the one on the right without 180 degree turns mid-track. To each his own.
Almost any track can fold up to the wall of you screw everything to the plywood including scenery. That's the hardest part.
The second photo shows my track folded up against the left wall. The plywood under the track measures 3' 6" by 7' 8". The hinges are attached to a standard 2x3" cut to size and mounted to the wall. The individual power supplies for both lanes are plugged into a power bar mounted under the 2x3. Turning the power bar on turns everything on including the lights.
