Wham bam, let's chat man...apart from the time two of the contributors met in Las Vegas, then there was silence...

What's the difference between a rally proxy held in a shed in a back garden in the UK, and a drag proxy held in a 100ft long club room in the USA? Not much, apart from the fact one has a professional film crew available, and the other has loads of shoes. One thrives on grip and the other one doesn't, but they both have to play with voltage to get the best out of the cars. They both thrive on acceleration but braking plays a major role as well, and they are both open to all of us to experience some competition in these strange times. Any if you want to, all the tips you need to get your car to perform were given out in the chat. (and we learnt why Lloyd can only run the Monte Carlo rally proxy when the weather is good).

Just when you thought you had seen some of the best scratch cars ever built, along comes a picture of a car with possibly the best driver, cabin interior and cylinder heads you could imagine.

A conversation regarding 3-D printing that suggests it is heading to be more complicated than scratch building....e.g. there is no need to worry about flexible chassis anymore, it's flexible printer plates you need to worry about.

And best of all, the World Wide Slot Car Chat restoration of two early Scalextric tin plate cars took some big steps forward. The bodies have now got mirror finish paint jobs, but the chassis need work doing to them and there are some missing parts. Hold on, John can easily cast the driver and seat ("what stitching would you like on the leather?") but if only we knew where to find some suitable steering wheels..."I think I have a box full of early Scalextric tin plate cars and components somewhere, not a problem" says Al. Looks like Dennis is going to have an easy ride here. I love it when everything comes together.
