A bit late but here's a little bit more of the racing from the October 23rd meeting, starting with a close-up of three of the Legends cars, followed by the 'posterised' version of the full grid, a favourite image of mine.

     

They will all be getting a full graphics make-over at some point, now they've had their shakedown run.

UPDATE:

   

November 13th's feature race will be for owner/driver Rally cars (Inline motor with max rpm of 21,000, MSC yellow or Slot it yellow or similar ).

Support races will be club provided Karts, Peugeots and Grp 5 racers.

November 13th saw an early return of the club Peugeots. Must have been a hit first time round as there's usually quite a gap before classes are repeated.

This time Mark won the class from Shaun, followed by Bill, Vic, David and Max. However, Mark was unable to beat Shaun's 64.6 lap total from the Oct 2nd meeting, topping out with a 63.3. 

   

   

The Karts are always popular, being good fun to drive, evenly matched and very stable. Shaun took the opportunity to pip Mark to the win this time, while Bill and David swapped Class 1 places, taking fifth and third respectively. There was no change for Vic and Max though, finishing fourth and sixth, as per Class 1.

   

   

The owner/driver Rally class shook up the order a bit though. Mark prevailed but David brought his MSC 6R4 home in second place, followed closely by Vic, both posting their highest finishes of the night, at the expense of Shaun in fourth. Max was finally in his comfort zone, bringing his car home in fifth, ahead of seasoned racer Bill. It was good to see Max back after a long-enforced Covid Lockdown absence.

   

   

Last up were the club's Gp5 racers, where a tight field saw Mark take his third win of the night by just a third of a lap from David in second. Shaun was third, Bill fourth, Vic fifth and Max sixth.

We will be racing owner/driver Nascar/Muscle/Trans Am cars with a MAX 20,000 rpm motor.

Club cars will be Scalextric Porsche 911's and Slot.it Nissan sports.

Time for a catch-up. December 11th passed in a bit of a blur as we rushed towards Christmas under the threat of another lockdown but that meeting did squeeze in - just. Three classes were run, with the owner/drivers class being NASCAR and Transams. No photos of the Club Scalextric Porsche 911's or Slot.it Nissans though.

                        

Unfortunately the proposed December 28th post-Christmas meeting had to be cancelled, not as a result of the Covid situation but because of various personal circumstances hitting possible attendance, which made the meeting unviable.

Roll on January 22nd!

Saturday January 22nd saw the five stalwarts joined by visitor Alan. Having formerly raced at a club in Tottenham, the near standard classes on an unknown track presented a bit of a learning curve but rumours are he'll be back, maybe with a couple more racers too. Let's hope so.

First up were the Club's Scalextric Karts, where Shaun was thrilled to take the win from Mark by half a lap.

                 

Positions were reversed in the Club Gp5's with Mark holding Shaun to second, this time by almost a lap.

                 

Finally the Club Trucks threw up a third winner, David, who had been on the other two podium steps in the previous classes, a feat he shared with Mark as both finished in the top three in each class. David's was the narrowest winning margin, being barely a fifth of a lap, with Bill just one tenth behind Mark.

                 

Vic and Alan were very consistent throughout the evening, finishing in the same place in every class, while Shaun and Bill traded the remaining places, the latter stepping up a couple of positions in the trucks to avoid a straight run of fifth places.

Next meeting: Sat. Feb. 12th.
