Looking back I had 6 of these SSD-compatible 2 digit windscreen displays tested and ready for installation on 9th November but it took me until 20th December to complete the install into six SSD AMG GT3’s. The lesson I learned here is that effort x6 takes time. In this case I had to do the front/tail light SSD C8515 lighting mod (to add brake lights), to fit the display modules as described and to apply a hot knife to the interiors.

One finished project often leads to another :)

Next, I will be adapting the firmware to display car IDs for the Carrera D132 system and then the SCX-advance system.

After that I hope to adapt the firmware for use with the oXigen system. In this case, as there is no ID coded IR LED signal, a different method will be used to adjust the displayed ID.
