Ronnie decided that we need some different bunny hatches and a friend wanted to get rid of some so, yesterday, we toddled orf to pick them up. She forgot to mention that they are the solid concrete sort.

Today, I can move a little finger  or maybe a hand up the the wrist. Anything that involves even remote use of the back or its assorted tributaries involves my cursing my ancestors, Ronnie (not in her hearing of course) and any possible gods/higher beings that may have had a hand in the design of such a naff piece of boney structure.

Anyway, today I used said finger and hand to lift a pair of pliers and a screwdriver and put together a test chassis for one of the 'new' Pittman 196Bs. Front half of a Revell chassis suitably modified with the pliers and it goes surprisingly well. Need some weight and I'm not sure it would stand up to the rigueurs of racing but as a quick and dirty test hack, it's rather good.

My new work in progress.  Couldn't wait to try it out so hastily attached it to the chassis today and ran it at the local club.  Is using my favourite cheap plafit chassis but have replaced the oversize wheels with some slot-it compatible ones with sticky rubber on the back and slippy at the front.

Runs really well but now need to take it apart and finish it up properly for some fun races.  Was fun having it racing against the slot-it C class cars at the track today and passing them.  Printing a teeny tiny "baby on board" sticker for it  Rofl

Made as much progress as I dare without going back to the club track to test further.  Adding the interior has added a lot of weight.  if it ruins the fun I will look at lightening it some more.  Possibly going to make some more of these if it runs as well as the first test.

Pretty much on the limit of adjustment for the chassis.

A good deal of time adjusting and getting it to sit just right.  Very pleased in getting the original wheels cut down and used as wheel inserts to make it look stock - my actual car has the same wheels fitted  Bigsmile

Got the "Baby on board" done.  Anyone identify the other sticker?

First job: Primer the 512M.

Far from perfect, but as my first use not too bad I feel.
A bit of wet and dry to correct the blemishes required when its dry, as you can see.

Good job with the primer and nice airbrush! What needle did it come with? and I'm guessing that was a white kit...
