Cameron´s cars arrived today, just in time for the race!
the cars are the same as last year, so we can see evolution instead of revolution! As the cars from the open slotcar project have been running quite nice, this is something to look forward too!

brakes not existing, heavy metall on the move. a nice handling car, good accelaretion, good grip, but i have not seen such weak brakes for a longer time. or it is way too heavy. or both, heavy and weak brakes. lights look awesome on the car and it runs smooth.

brakes? who needs brakes? drives like like an artin car on stock track without brakes. blinding fast with excellent accelaration on the straights, good grip in the cormers, but no way to slow it down. looks absolutely fabulous on the track!

one of the best looking cars i ever had on my track. handles really good, nice to drive, the rear end is loose, but under controll, a little strange to look at, but still very, very good to drive. did not expect that with the front motor setup. on the straight, being silk smooth, you seem to hear the 2 turbos whining. Awesome, simply awesome!

great handling car, very good speed and brakes, but it can´t deny it´s high CoG, but only compared to all those low slung race cars in this field. blinding lights in the front, maybe even to shiny. i should have fixed the constant light circuit board inside the body, it is moving around and effecting handling in the second to last turn.

Welcome to the ProNoMag 2020!

This is the 10th race named ProNoMag! First one ran on the first wood track - "voristan wood". Since nine years now, we ´re runnng on the Desmo. A nicely scaled 1/43rd wood track with a 6m (18ft) front straight and a most narrow curve of a radius of 40mm (6/4") which will fit inside a R1 of Carrera - this curve is called "broken guides corner". 
So, we got a nice field of 30 cars to run during this race, with very different techniques used to build a fast 1/43rd slot racing car. 
Racing car? yes! blinding fast and hard to controll, smooth running, rattling around corners, crashing the scenery, loosing mirrors and wheel inserts, breaking its guide and generally failing. 
Also taking glorious turns, entering the big bend with great speed, going into a nice slide.

A car from the Open Slotcar Project!
A very nice project, even with casting own tires. Tires! yes - these tires work great, they only need to be trued a little more. or eben be trued at all. And front tires will help handling - if they are sanded round and coated with CA glue or clear coat. But they are not allowed to have grip. This spoils the fun!
The guide came loose twice during the races, but it is an easy fix -simply push it back on. This amazed me, as i did not think this will hold together at all. 
Anyhow - the Jag went around the Desmo with good controll. Nice accelaration and brakes, good controll in the corners!

more or less identical to the #34 Jag, only with added weight to slow it down. the little motor is already running on the limit, even with no weight added. 
But car ran great, no mechanical or electrical issues. I´m beginning to enjoy the Jags!

the double motor 4WD Lambo is running quite good. With a scream around the track that is Lamborghini making real proud, it flies on the straights. The tight bends are not so easy to master. You can feel the wide wheels working against each other. As long as you keep it aligned, it is quite settled. But when you begin to push it in the corners, it begins to jump. and it jumps high. But it stays in the slot. A wild car!

drives very similar to the Reventon, only with longer gearing and less brakes, but overall, it runs a little more smooth. takes some concentration to hold it on the track.

there is a serious problem in the rear axle. it binds and it comes loose, without any pre-warning or sign of whatever kind. one seconds the truck is runnng like with applied hand brake, then it comes loose and speeds up by 100%. This is the cause for all those deslots and slow laps. when the axle is running free - this is a very nice car to drive. looks great, great controll, good brakes and grip. if the body would have some float, the controll would be even better. front tires with too much grip.
very nice to drive.

Brakes are weak on this car. Looks great going round the track. Good controll. Nice light make it easy to follow the car around. Gears slightly on the rough side.

brakes are better than on the #53 car. limited guide travel, loose front axle. gears on the noisy side. looks good on the track. wanted to jump the slot in front of the Reifenlager many, many times. had to take it easy there. the change of direction there always gets the cars and they became unstable. The ultra-low-profile tires seem not to help, but look good.

the little Motor could use some rpms or a longer gearing. car controll is very good. wobbly front axle, causes some noise going round the track. 
BARC paint scheme looks excellent on the GT40, a very nice car.

Excellent tires! what are these? awesome grp! guide doesn´t move free, body float could help handling, handling is goood, but the line between grip and drift is not clear. rear wing supported in rubber - moves around while driving. spoiling the otherwise good handling. wobbly, strange front tires. nice gears, good gearing, great controll.
i´m getting the feeling that this car sold itself under its correct value due to small things.

this car needs some break in time on the track. got faster and better to drive during the race. rear axle binding, motor is really hot after the races. spend some time with the gear and the gear setup and you have a fast, smooth car. but now, it was a hard ride.
looks fabolous on the track, one of the most flat cars i´ve ever had on the track.

the Toyota is probably the most impressive car i had on my track by now. the details are amazing, the twin turbos in the rear, the flat shape, the huge wing on the tiny car - simply to be loved. 
the handling of the car is great, sadly it gets a DNF, as the connection from the front motor to the pinion broke, it´s some kind of spring, i´m lost there. sorry.
But it´s a great car. I like the look, i like the driving. wanna have it ...

a slotdevil micro chassis - full metall - nice, BUT for my tast - too much weight. good controll, this car will handle a 24h race. i do not like front suspension (too loose) or the body mounting (pins in foams glued to the body. guide is sitting way too high in the chassis with the big front wheels. 
but it runs smooth, super smooth.

very interesting chassis, motor moves with the guide, connected to the rest by a flexible connection. 
in the last 2% of possible physics it gets a little hard to guess what the car will do. But up to it, it is a very, very good car too drive.
one of the smoothest cars ever to run on the Desmo.

This could have been fast, really, really fast. 
A wonderfull balance between power and breaking, great grip in the turns. 
BUT it suffered a very common problem. Gear slipped. Tried pushing it back 3 times, but as you can imagine, it became worse every time.
hat a 8.6 time on lane 3 during the warm up laps for race. in the race the car came as far as turn 1. When braking hard for the high speed turn, the gear slipped and the car deslotted, going straight for the scenery. after the first fix, it could do one slow lap and under hard accelaration after turn 1 it happened again. as every is nicely lubed in the back of the car, i could not fix it in short time.

on the first laps you only suspect the whole truce ...
then you feel that this car will go faster. 
you push it. it gives you all the right answer. you push it even more. it still answers. runs smooth. turns easily. no drama. until you see the laptimes. you realize that we got new best laptimes. on both lanes. Fast!
And it nice to look at,too! only thing - when going from power to braking, there is a little noise. otherwise? silk smooth. Awesome!

awesome grip and handling with the BARC sidewinder chassis. great preparation of the car, drives great! also the looks - very nice. only in the tight corners you can hear the wide wheels working against each other - than came the straight and silk smooth gear accelarate the car into the next turn. every time nice to experience.

the longer gearing 12/24 helps the top speed of the Mini. does not effect braking. great accelaration and handling, too. 
i always write the things in slotcar should be fixed and not move around. the only movement is between body and chassis. And i myself? do not fx the constant light circuit board. it DOES effect handling and not in a good way. well, the Mini needs a driver tray, too, so, back to work. 
nice to drive anyway

I like the MCA, it has something uncivilized on it.

nice lady driving a big and heavy car. it´s hard to deslot the Diplomat, due the heavy floor board. nice to drive, but you have to brake early. it a good running car, but the weight slows it down in the end. 
Nice constant lights and i like the paint job, too!
