Holiday, if only, may have to consider this though, the only trip I currently have booked is my spinal fusion in Sydney in December and then starting kidney dialysis beginning of January.

I do intend running the Pioneer's as there will be two of them duplicated. This will fill the last three shelves I have, so back to the shed to make some more noise Bigsmile and another two shelves.

On Ford v Ferrari weekend, I picked up a Ford at the Orpington swapmeet - the Scalextric C4105 'weathered' #10 Hobbs-Hawkins GT40 from Le Mans 1968. For a bargain £20, I'm going to chip it and race it next week.

So where do you buy these Banpro cars?

Apologies for the loooong delay in answering this, had only just seen it as I was going back through looking at all those lovely purchases people have made this year.  I will make a separate thread about these models as I have a few of them now.  Short story is that Banpro (tracks) and Plafit (cars) are pretty much the same company operating out of Yokohama in Japan.  There is a line of toy stores here called Hakuhinkan, and in a couple of their stores they have a Banpro track that you can use to race your new purchases on in the store.  Plafit has teamed up with the store to make a cheaper line of cars to be sold in store that are easier to drive and will not break easily if they leave the track.

Unfortunately it does not look like these cars are listed in their online store for the toy shop - in fact it looks like very few things are, they do have a lot of cars for sale, mostly Carrera, Scalextric and Slot.it.

Similarly if you go to the Banpro/Plafit site you will see pretty much all the parts for the main Plafit line, but not these starter cars.

You can drop them a mail if you want to buy some of them, and when I spoke to them previously they did seem open to selling them in quantity to other stores.  If interested drop me a note and I can forward on the contact I have there and the prices they gave to me last year when I spoke with them.

Well after many weeks of procrastination (price point) I have bitten the bullet and purchased some Nonno Slot.It F1 Lexan cars to introduce a new genre of racing to my track rather than racing the Scalextric branded cars that are too fickle and delicate petals that break soon as you breath on them (not Scalextric fault) just these F1's are designed to be raced competition style.

Nonno Slot.it

The cars are constructed by Marco Guerrieri, aka NonnoSlot. Handcrafted manufacturer of SCL 1:32 racing cars compatible with all types of slots. My models are entirely handmade in Italy.

On the Nonnoslot.it site Marco has a Club Solution at reasonable price for five Lexan F1 cars making it easy and cheap to get up and running with your club and cars of choice.

All cars contain standard build items:
  • RTR with soft compound tires,
  • Slot it Flat 6R engine from 22,000 rpm,
  • light metal frame, and
  • painted lexan body
The cars I have chosen are:

     Brabham BT50 1982 Riccardio Patrese - side'ish view
    Brabham BT50 1982 Riccardio Patrese - top view - Reference: Lexan02
Alfa Romeo 179 Andrea De Cesaris - Reference: Lexan22
     Williams 1982 Keke Rosberg - Reference: Lexan06
Renault 1982 Alain Prost - side
    Renault 1982 Alain Prost - top - Reference: Lexan15
    Tyrrell 011 Michele Alboreto - Reference: Lexan13
    McLaren MP4/1 Niki Lauda - side'ish
McLaren MP4/1 Niki Lauda  - side
    McLaren MP4/1 Niki Lauda - top - Reference: Lexan08
