If anyone was wondering why the Ginettas were missing from last weekend's 6 hours of Spa, here's the story...

Ginetta boss Lawrence Tomlinson explained to the media before the race that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic had forced the company to choose between supporting the return of Ginetta single-make championships or pouring cash and manpower into getting the LMP programme back up and running. They decided that their #1 priority must be to keep their customers happy...

Keeping customers happy is not something that everyone in motorsport is very good at – we take pride that it is a real strength of what we do and I hope everyone at the ACO and WEC can respect that. That’s disappointing for all of us that would have liked to have been at Spa but these are extraordinary times.  We are not the only race team to have had to make some tough calls in the wake of the shutdown.

A single-car Ginetta entry is on schedule to be ready for the Le Mans 24 hours next month.

We are paid up for the season and we expect to be at Le Mans with one car. The car could be very strong there; we want to get back on track as strongly as we can.

Fingers-crossed...
