Having posted that we run regular vintage evenings I thought it might be an idea to post pictures of the sort of vintage cars that we run.
I can't post pictures for all of the classes as some of my cars are currently in bits and others aren't finished yet but the following should give some idea :-
1/24 open class.
Matich SR3 with Dynamic chassis and 26D motor.
Lotus 19B with Dynamic chassis and 26D motor
1/24 Hussein Special with scratchbuilt chassis and 26D motor bought from Ebay for just over £50 inc shipping.
I have changed the sponge rears to uretanes but haven't raced this yet as the joint where the guide mount was soldered to the drop arm was cracked and I have repaired it during lockdown
1/24 Revell Lotus 23. Not particularly fast but I love the car and it was the first proper slot car I ever tried on a track in a local car dealer when I was about 10 years old.
1/24 Russkit Honda bought from Ebay USA. The seller had put it away in the late 60's when he stopped racing. Unfortunately the Russkit 23 motor threw a winding second time out so it has a Russkit 22 at present which is a lot slower.
1/32 scale Revell early Ferrari 250 GTO with set screw wheels
and finally Monogram 1/32 Ford GT40 and Ferrari 275LM. Both have the same drop arm type chassis.
That's all at the moment. Hope you enjoyed the photos and maybe it will encourage a few more to have a go at vintage racing. It doesn't have to be expensive provided you are prepared to buy scruffy well used cars and spend time tidying them up.
Thanks for looking
Tony
