2026 Season - Rnd 09 - Sat Sept 5th
With a few people missing in recent weeks due to illnesses and accidents, we still did surprisingly well to have ten club members turn up on the night. With everyone getting stuck in it didn’t take too long to get the big track set up ready for racing in the opposite direction to the norm. Before racing proper began though, a good few ‘familiarisation’ laps were run to get used to the different braking points required for the ‘reverse running’, which makes a BIG difference!
Support race: Club Ninco Rally Peugeots
They made a welcome return, providing close racing with the cars being very evenly matched. Staying on the track and avoiding the crashes, Mark J came out on top, just a tenth of a lap ahead of Shaun and nine tenths ahead of third place man, Mark R.
Main race: Own/driver Rally cars.
With inline chassis and motor rpm of up to 21K, as usual the owner/driver class saw a wide range of body styles from Ninco, MSC, Scalextric, SCX and even a NSR Porsche 997 GT3 hitting the track. Racing was fast and furious with the better handling and extra power.
Mark came home first again – but not the same Mark. This time it was Mark W with his Porsche. Less than two laps down, Vic’ made his appearance on the second step, a lap ahead of the winner of the Club car formula, Mark J.
