I passed my test in a basic Austin 1100, 1st June 1972 remember it well, it was tipping down with rain, the blower couldn't stop the screen from misting even with the window open, I stopped 3 times in my test to wipe the inside of the windscreen.

I also remember riding my bike down to the local BMC dealership on the day they revealed the MG1300 and grabbed a brochure for my collection, wished I still had my vast collection of brochures.
