I did not intend this thread to become a discussion on EVs but as it seems to be heading that way .......
Electric motors are far and away better drive units than ICE. The problem lies in the batteries primarily, and charging infrastructure also. Here in Aus distance is a real thing, we have to travel 400kms to the nearest city capital, we can do it a day in an ICE but an EV would need an overnight stay.
Hybrids, either PHEV or true hybrid are the best option at the moment. We drive a true hybrid and find it good.
