Our club monthly race day this year is a bag of 3 races for broader appeal with the club offering loaner cars if you do not have one for a particular class. These classes are roughly defined as.
1. Scalextric RTR with white endbell motors only.
2. Super 1/32 which in general is any 1/32 scale running any Plafit 1/32 chassis with magnets.
3. Narrow 1/24 or 1/28 using the Plafit 1/24 chassis with no magnets.
I need to make repairs or source new car for race 1. My main cars had been carrera and few Scalextric. Any that were fast have aged and in need of repairs.
Race 2 I have a number of options that will be more competitive. On the day I had used the Toyota Alphard for fun, next time will be more sensible.
Race 3 is now the focus. My NSX police car was stable and reliable, just lacked some speed in corners - especially after the light bar had been added
For some strange reason the Claire Frost Mercedes C9 spoke to me.... But after getting the kit it is a large 1/24 scale and not suitable for the club track.
So I went my own way and got a Kyosho 1/28 body of the C9 and remade the decals.
Lots still to do and few weeks left before the next race event. Hoping to have at least 2 possible entries per race that can be used.
