Thanks Roguejackal for the question and kind prompt since it is now almost 11 months since I last provided any update on this subject.

I’m currently preparing to test the high speed performance of the 36 car lap detection method. Yes, so far we tested cars running fast across lap sensors - but to be truly scientific we need to know the precise speed. Also, for system robustness we need to test at speeds higher than will ever be experienced on the racetrack during race conditions.

This is where the current effort is placed. It involves development of precision speed measurement equipment and of course development of some very fast digital cars.

This is all taking some time, hence the delay in providing updates.
