FINALLY got a MRRC Toyota Celica Gr.5 on the bench.
All thanks to Graham's proxies and getting the chance to drive a huge range of cars, some of which are basic cars.
On the back of this I've gone back to setting up basic cars again (like the Ninco BMW V12 in the current proxy).
...this Toyota will be built on similar lines to Graham's Modified Standard rules with a 22k motor
First job, reinforce the guide mount as it was slightly split and flexed too much...superglue & bicarb will fix that!
...then sleeve the guide post hole with 4mm 'thinwall' brass tube.
Next, a job that you should do before going any further, glue/true the tyres.
Then sit the chassis on two Stanley knife blades so the chassis is flat and parallel to the block of steel I use.
Then glue the bearings in...
It's now a nice smooth roller, motor is next... tomorrow
