My 'scratch building' as far as bodyshells go has so far been limited to wheelarches but I love seeing other peoples work, especially bodyshells.
Chassis are easy, they're flat and have straight cutouts.
Wheel inserts can be made with old wheels and a dremel if you don't have a 3D printer.
Then there's the decorating, another skill I'm lacking. Making a model look remarkably similar to a 1:1 'real' car must be a labour of love.
For some of us, it seems that how it goes on the track is secondary.
