I removed the epoxy and foam blocks securing the motor and tack soldered it in.
I don't like soldering the motor due to the heat not doing the magnets any good. There was little room for the big tip on my soldering iron and obviously didn't do a sufficiently good job as the solder join failed after about an hour track time...so I've gone back to superglue sprinkled with bicarb powder.
On my short tight twisty test track it's a little hooligan and look forward to getting it on our 'real' Rally stages at the club.
Tyres are (were) Pendle Mini tyres on small wheels. Rubber is a SlotIt rubber which work well but wear quickly so last night glued/trued a set of NSR 'special black' Rally tyres which I think is a G25 type rubber and a pig to grind...they grip very well but do have a tendency to grain after a minute.
