The new system still remains to be proven so there are some ‘sensible’ next steps:
First, continue to progress robustness trials of the new system in twelve-car mode (and of course the six car modes with ARC PRO and APB respectively as mentioned above).
The secondary next step, is to ensure development continues in a manner which remains compatible with the 24-car and 36-car system targets.
So here the plan is to split the 36 car IDs into the following groups. BTW this is simply for convenience of planning and hopefully this will not create any fundamental system restrictions.
IDs 1-12 will remain the current 12 car AMG race pack as shown earlier and these will remain matched to high spec wireless controllers.
IDs 13-24 will become a race pack of pacer cars which are controlled from a 12-car throttle ‘panel’. Later this can become a PC-controlled autonomous car control panel e.g PC reads the track sensors and determines whether individual pacer cars should speed up, slow down or change lane.
IDs 25-32 will become a secondary race pack of AMGs (making a total of 20 cars for human drivers). These will also be wireless throttle controlled.
IDs 33,34,35 & 36 will be support vehicles such as safety car, ambulance, fire tender and maybe a marshal car.
Use of these higher IDs for support vehicles makes sense as Pc Lapcounter is currently limited to 32 race IDs.
Could this be entertaining? Let’s see…
