Race Report
Twenty-three drivers were divided into five teams of four and one team of three to tackle 500 laps on Simon's O'Connor layout...
We were missing three of our team captains - Dean deputising for Alex at Astone Mosdell, Simon leading Smooth Operators - and providing the car - with Ryan at the football, and Jeremy passed on the WHAM! Racing Bentley to Ash as he headed off on holiday...
As always, each Pro-Am team needed at least one Bronze driver - and those Am drivers had to complete half of the six 20-minute stints. We kept to established line-ups, with a few changes - Matthew and Stephen going to bolster WHAM! and Scott joining his third team of the season...
After half an hour of practice, we had Super-Pole qualifying...
Six drivers - three of them team captains - went hell for leather over two minutes to set a fastest lap time...
Congratulations to Ollie on a second consecutive pole position - and for being the only driver to manage a sub-11-second lap...
That set us up very nicely for the race - 500 laps should be taking around 2 hours...
