I moved from Wood/Scorpius to Scalextric digital, I just wanted to play and I love the plug and play of the Arc Pro in combination with the DPR chips, no soldering or whatever needed. The newer Slot.It cars can also easily be chipped now, so I use 15B chips to run on SSD.
But the main feature that only the Arc Pro offers is analog running by only changing a knob on the base. This means I can run my analog cars as well and I don't need to chip them every time I want to run them. It's still without brakes as the standard controllers (or SCP3) are used and cannot be compared with a full analog track and high end controller but it is analog![]()
I think with Carrera this is only possible after some changes, the Germans call it "dual betrieb", you can find a lot of information on the Freeslotter.de forum.
To run analogue on Scorpius you simply use a positive wired driver station and wire the track as any positive wired track. Then simply bridge 2 pins with a $1 jumper wire for Scorpius.
Total cost:
Driver station plug $30
Jump wire $1
And you get true Analogue with brakes.

Or you can use 2 double pole switches cost $7
