A couple of weeks ago a chum came round for an evening of racing and general slot car fun. He’s into cars and has recently set up a model railway in his loft and is really enjoying that, so I thought I’d introduce him to another potential use for his loft space! I thought a more challenging track was in order, something a bit slower and more involved. I particularly enjoy complex corners with a variety of radii so I tried to add a few of those. I took the time to turn every bit of track over and give the connection tabs a tweak before laying the track and it seems to have made quite a difference to how good the connectivity is. Definitely well worth doing, just a massive chore if you're laying a big track. I popped a power tap along the back straight too just in case.
Chum had a great time and will be back for more I'm sure! Again, my son and I have been playing on this track a lot in recent weeks. It’s really captured his imagination. He's a massive gamer so anything to get him away from the screen and into something physical but still just as challenging and engaging it good. We seem to spend a surprising amount of time perfecting our powersliding/drifting techniques through the bends, having prolonged police chases using his police Range Rover to take out the opponent (all a bit Need For Speed, but why not?!), and it appears caravan racing is surprisingly popular too.
I’m sure I’ve written this multiple times before but I will try to keep this thread updated a bit more frequently!
Edit: Sorry don't know how to get rid of the attached images below?
