This one came from the same racing stable as the yellow #5 - but wasn't as radical.
The entire rear end had been fitted with Slot.it running gear - axle, crown gear and much smaller diameter wheels and tyres. Bizarrely there was also a factory assembly error. The fender strake on the drivers right was fitted back to front so didn't follow the contour of the wing. Definitely factory - but an easy fix.
The rear end was put back to stock MG Vanquish by raiding the parts box for proper McLaren wheels (from the yellow Shadow's racing chassis) and diff' and a second roll bar support was added. (One was missing.)
Other than that it's been disassembled, cleaned, lubed and re-assembled, with the front wheels being spaced out as far as they'd go too. (Forgot to say I did the same on the yellow Shadow.) Love these Vanquish Can Am cars - but not the prices. This was another affordable addition to the collection
