MSCC - 2022 Slot Rally results & reports etc.
#5

The first Slot Rally of 2022 with re-defined 'Modified' class as the more historical and appropriate 'ProStock' class.

20 cars were seen in the actual Rally but many more were seen in practice.

5 Standard cars + 9 ProStock cars + 6 Open cars

STANDARD

All five cars tonight were sole entries in their classes, the regulars - Brians Abarth 131, Geoffs XK120 & Mikes Ford Focus were joined by Kevs Porsche 996 & Pantera.

PRO-STOCK

Popular as always primarily because these classes are mainly occupied by RTR cars with high end components. Brians Renault Megane was the exception being a 3D printed chassis under a Scaley body.

Two cars in 'Classic', Andys Pantera & Geoffs GT40, the GT40 NOT liking the anticlockwise run but much more competitive on the clockwise run. Andys Pantera was very consistent and comfortably won this class.

Five cars in '2WD', probably the easiest class to go well in, NSR, Scaleauto & MSC were all represented tonight.  You can enter this class with a standard class car and add alloy wheels, slotit gears and a much better guide of your choice or buy one of dozens of 3D chassis available to turn a dust gatherer into a competitive Rally car.

One new car seen in this class tonight was Kevs Aston Martin Vantage with 3D printed spotlights, not as nimble as Mikes Porsche 997 or consistent in both directions but much quicker in the clockwise run.

Geoffs Peugeot 208 always went well in this class and by far his best car on TT Grandstand tonight.

Brians Renault Megane on it's second outing is very smooth and just a couple of seconds behind Mikes other car in this class tonight the Scooby WRC.

'4WD' doesn't often have competition for the win, tonight Brians Peugeot 208 T16 was back in it's 4WD form to do battle with Mikes Evo X with Mike getting more out of his car than Brian to finish a few seconds ahead.

OPEN

Andys XK120 was the sole entry in 'Small Classic' and went as well as it always does.

'2WD' is popular with the Open class guys and is where the quicker cars round the stage are found.  Geoffs Toyota and Brians Peugeot 206 were pretty close but the 206 was Brians best car tonight and much quicker on the second run.

Kevs Scooby has been the car to beat for a while in this class had to put in a storming second run as Andys Ferrari F40 was quicker on the first stage.

'4WD' has been a regular class for Andys Mitsubishi EVO, both quick and consistent.
