I must point out again that I am not using soft balsa, I use the harder lime tree/basswood.
I've used the Makita belt sander seen in some pics in the Lotus thread( a better variation of the more common Black&Decker Powerfile) to hollow this shell out. Any of those machines would be overkill for balsa work, I think.
You get by with very simple tools!
Why don't you just get some pieces of good wood, start working and see what happens!![]()
I am sure you have looked around and found Gordon Steadman's (the balsa boy) ”Building a slot car body out of wood” thread on this forum?
His ”I'm into bodies” should be interesting for you as well.
There is a lot to pick up from older threads.![]()
