Surely this is true of all manufacturers? They would all like you to buy their products exclusively but if different brands turn in similar lap times then why wouldn't you race them against each other?
Anyway, I have stripped the car and attended to some of the adjustments highlighted in the videos. The chassis was very slightly warped so a little tweaking and the front tyres now touch and roll. It is now perfectly nice to drive but only marginally quicker. The rear tyres are wearing at a fast rate of knots so, although they have good grip, I shall need aftermarket ones soon. Can anybody advise a suitable alternative?
Overall there is nothing actually wrong with it but, to my mind, the only justifications for paying top dollar for a slot car is either high speed (e.g. NSR or Thunderslot) or superb detailing/scale accuracy (e.g. LMM). RevoSlot fall into neither category so it is difficult to see where they fit in the overall scheme of things.
The review was written from the point of view of the average home user who is not inclined to do a full strip down to make the thing work properly so would probably be disappointed with his purchase. Those of us who like mucking about with them will end up with a perfectly acceptable mid range performer but at a higher price point than I am personally prepared to pay.
