Latest in the Scalextric Formula Juniors is the Cooper shown below.
Chassis uses the FF50 slimline motor and Slot It 1mm offset cog to get the right stance. The upper body shell will need some light fettling to allow the cog to rotate freely as this cog is substantially larger than the FJ original. Not shown fitted but supplied with the chassis kit is the replacement blade guide (see the Lotus FJ post) which replaces the Scalex pin moulding and a rear motor holding clamp.
Available now at the usual £6 complete with PETG guide for the steering unit to replace the pin.
Note: The FJ BRM is also available but due to the ‘boat tail’ this will need the original FJ cog and pinion to be used, as despite several tries cannot get a Slot it cog to fit without severe compromises in the rear axle centre being so out of position the car has a ‘dragster’ look to it.
