The cars get up enough speed to bridge the dead section but obviously they do slow rather.

Gordon, maybe it feels more realistic if you would imagine that your cars are running rich.
Take care not dropping your cars on the floor during testing.
Fitting a safety barrier is maybe the best job to do now???

A bit late  

As the offcuts were a bit narrow, the track doesn't allow much in the way of fishtailing! A couple of cars have already tried to commit suicide on the infield so I'm just making some 'temporary' infills out of card to catch the unwary.
