2026 Season - Rnd 08 - Sat Aug 1st
Fifteen club members turned up to race, on a very hot Saturday afternoon but surprisingly, not all at the same time! More of that later.
Add to that the A14 being closed, it was gone midnight before some got home!

Fifteen club members turned up to race, on a very hot Saturday afternoon but surprisingly, not all at the same time! More of that later.
Ringing the changes, a different circuit was set up by removing one corner section and replacing it with a pair of straights, making for a shorter faster lap.
Support race: Club Fly `Super trucks'
Slightly modified from standard they produced some close mirror bashing heats with some drivers, having never driven trucks before, taking a bit of time to get used to the different driving style required.
Coming home the winner despite the mayhem was Mark J, leading Shaun by over two and a half laps. With identical lap scores but a better fastest lap, David took third ahead of Bill, with Larry just half a lap down in fifth.
The rest of the field finished near enough in pairs, each pair finishing within less than half a lap of each other. So, despite the carnage, some pretty close racing!
Half Time:
At this point Mark J and Alan had to leave, just as Mark Raine arrived after a late shift at work. Rather confusingly he raced under Alan’s name for the rest of the evening, as Bill forgot to add him as a new entry. However, this explains why there were fifteen drivers overall, although the maximum appeared to be fourteen!
Main race: Owner/driver Saloon and DTM cars.
As with any owner/driver class there was a huge array of cars – and makes, varying from ‘almost standard’ Scalextric to well sorted Slot.it’s – and it was one of the latter that won, giving Chris his maiden win by almost six laps!
Nine laps covered the next nine places, from old hand, Vic, then Ben down to Mark R (racing as Alan!) with David F, Tim and Wayne bringing up the rear,
It was a very long night, with racing not finishing until 10.20pm, followed by another 40 minutes to pack away.
